When someone inevitably asks you, “So, what do you do?” confidently take the opportunity to market your business, but do not confuse the product message with who you are. Clearly notice, you are not your product. Unfortunately, most people do not make that distinction; including your clients. It is easy to confuse what you do with who you are because you are so intimately involved in your service production process. Self-identifying with your product is a trap. Intertwining your product and ego can emotionally drive you in unwise directions.
