Breathe. Remember to Breathe.

Notice your breathing. Most of the time, your breathing is set on auto pilot. Is yours set on shallow or deep? Are you holding your breath?  You can override and reset your breathing pattern to physiologically coach your body into different states, like relaxation.  Relaxation creates an environment within your body that promotes repair, health, and wellness. Take a breath and feel your ribcage expand. On your exhale, use your stomach muscles to suck your belly button towards your backbone. Inhale letting your ribcage and belly fill up like a hot air balloon; now that is some deep breathing! Check in with your breathing every once and a while. Mindfully take longer, deeper breathes, and over time, you can reset your auto pilot to a more relaxed state.
